Tai kesäset varpaat rannalla ja sienisaalis korissa.  Tänään minua puri vlogikärpänen kommentoidessani Toni Nummelan mainiota selostusta siitä, miksi hän alkoi tehdä vlogia Youtubeen. Itse hyppäsin samalle epämukavuusalueelle ja päätin kokeilla itsekin. Aloitin varovasti kommentoimalla - ja nyt omalla ekalla vloggauksellani. Maailma, täältä minä tulen! Huomautettakoon, että tämän Syksyn lehdet sosiaalisessa mediassa -vlogaustani ei kannata ottaa aivan liian vakavasti. Parempi jakaa kuin olla jakamatta. Kyseinen vlogipostaus on kuvattu, editoitu ja jaettu julkiselta paikalta Martin sydämestä.

Today, I experienced something never before. Propably the fake Twitter user of Turkish government tried to silence me tweeting my commentaries of the demonstrations in Istanbul. Tweets from which I got the personal RT record - thank you for sharing, and please do that! I have Turkish friends which are touched by the current demonstrations in Istanbul. Demonstrators are against the plans for building a mall to a park and they criticize the government for undemocratic decision making during the process. People were not heard and they claimed the decision makers for the corruption. So, they did the only thing they could do. Go to the streets. And the government response has been attacking against the demonstrators with the hard force. With rubber bullets, teargas, water canons and chemical substances I thought it was not even possible to use this day. I admire the demonstrators for their spirit and the courage to go to the street when everyone watching the incident outside can see ...

It happened again. Gävle bocken, a gigantic goat made from straw, was burned last night.  As I wrote couple of weeks ago, this goat has become a phenomenon in the world due to fact that it is more likely it is burned down than it survives to Christmas. Burning of the straw goats (though not so big) is an old Nordic tradition for the darkest time of the year. Burning washed away the bad spirits and bad luck away and was a promise for a good crops for next harvest. So, Gävle's citizens are saved from bad spirits also this year. Since it was raised fist time in the 1960's the goat has been burned almost 30 times. Some years ago it was burned by an American tourist who actually thought that it was the traditions people just had to do - and he thought himself lucky. Petteri Järvinen kirjoitti tänään, kuinka Twitter toi vuosi sitten aivan uudenlaisen ulottuvuuden linnanjuhlien kättelyseremoniaan. YLE mahdollisti sen, että katsojien twiitit näkyivät televisiokatsojien ruudun alareunassa, mikäli he olivat aktivoineet tietyn teksti-tv-sivun. Tänä vuonna twiittausten suosio kasvoi. Järvisen lähteiden mukaan #linnanjuhlat twiittaajia oli 2640 kappaletta ja he lähettivät yhteensä 10827 viestiä. Puolet viesteistä tuli aktiivisimman kymmenen prosentin näppäimistöltä. Järvinen kertoi suurimman osan viesteistä olevan hauskoja ja informatiivisia. Toivottavasti omat twiittini lukeutuivat tähän kategoriaan.  Itse seurasin linnanjuhlien aikana eri lähteistä, nouseeko #linnanjuhlat tägi Twitterissä maailman suosituimpien keskusteluaiheiden joukkoon kuten tapahtui vuonna 2011. Last weekend I was searching some statistical data for my lecture on social media. I popped in to many so interesting sites and news stories about the internet that I got an inspiration to create my second Infograph ever. The major sources I used were AllTwitter, AllFacebook, Wikipedia, Techcrunch & The Huffington Post which I judge to be relatively trustworthy sources in the subject matter. The figures mirror the status in the internet in December 2012. This is what happens in internet. In every minute.
